Pulitzer Prize–winning author Barbara Kingsolver comes to San José to receive the 2026 “In the Souls of the People” John Steinbeck Award, presented by San José State University. The evening will also include a reading from her latest novel, Partita, and a live on-stage performance of classical piano pieces featured in the book. The event is hosted by SJSU at the Hammer Theatre Center, with Kepler’s serving as the official bookseller.
