Opera San José brings a new production of the beloved musical Fiddler on the Roof to the historic California Theatre. Set in a Jewish shtetl on the brink of upheaval, the story follows Tevye as he balances deeply rooted traditions with his daughters’ changing ideas about love, family, and the future. Opera San José frames the production around themes of heritage, adaptation, and belonging, with Eugene Brancoveanu making his role debut as Tevye.
