After 2 years in a virtual format, the 55th annual Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival is returning to in-person form this year! The festival will be help over two weekends, April 9th - 10th and 17th - 18th. The festival showcases traditional music, dance and cultural performers, highlighting San Francisco's Japanese and Japanese American communities while watching our cherry blossoms bloom in our neighborhood.
During the festival, you can sample a variety of Japanese and Japanese-American culinary faire, such as fresh sushi, tempura, and chicken or beef teriyaki.
Of course, do not miss the Grand Parade on Sunday, April 17, starting at City Hall around 1pm on Polk Street near McAllister. The parade then follows Polk Street north to Post Street and turns left toward Japantown.
