The 2026 San Francisco Chinese New Year Festival and Parade, celebrating the Year of the Horse, spans several weeks of vibrant cultural festivities from mid-February through early March. The celebration begins with the Flower Market Fair on February 14th and 15th, where the streets of Chinatown are filled with fresh blooms and festive decorations. On February 17th, the neighborhood observes Choy Sun Doe (Day of the God of Wealth), featuring the distribution of red envelopes to children. The following weeks include the Chinatown YMCA Run on March 1st and the Miss Chinatown USA Pageant on March 6th. The festivities reach a spectacular peak on the weekend of March 7th and 8th with the massive Community Street Fair featuring acrobats and folk art. The crown jewel of the season is the illuminated Night Parade on the evening of March 7th, where elaborate floats and a 288-foot Golden Dragon wind through the downtown streets to ring in 2026.
